Hi everyone. My name is Nathan Kelly.
I’m a father, a husband, and I’ve been instructing children (including my own) in the realm of martial arts for the better part of fourteen years. I don’t intend to stop anytime soon.
The biggest lesson that I’ve learned from teaching children ages five to seventeen, is that the best thing that anyone can hope to learn from martial arts is resolve.
You wouldn’t believe how many of the children I’ve trained, who are now excellent fighters, started out their first match in tears because they didn’t want to do martial arts.
Actually, since you’re here, I’m willing to bet you do believe the sheer number of frustrated kids.
Martial arts can be intimidating at first, especially for younger children. They just see older kids and how they’ve progressed, and that’s the tricky part.
You have to get them to stop focusing on that, and concentrate on their own progress.
Once you can shift their mindset away from comparing themselves to the older kids in the room, most children quickly develop an aptitude for martial arts, and a desire to get better.
I’m ultra proud of all the classes I’ve taught, and the fantastic students that have come out of them.
Now it’s time to help you on your child’s journey with martial arts.
On this site, I’ll tell you how to help them get started, how to help them deal with being frustrated, the crying fits that happen with five-year-olds and up, and everything in between.
Kids truly do love martial arts and anything they can be this active with.
I’m going to teach you why they love it so much, and how to get them to realize that (and when it’s okay to throw in the towel if they really don’t like it; we don’t want to force them).
Let’s get started, class is in session!
